About the KMAA
The many artists living in the area represent an important constituency
for the Museum. A very active Katonah Museum Artists Association
offers lectures, workshops, and other events of special interest
to its more than 300 members. The Museum also presents tri-state
juried exhibitions, selecting outstanding curators to serve as
jurors.

Margaret Fox
Throughout her career, Margaret Fox has incorporated beauty and artifice in her meticulously executed photography. In her Escaped Balloon Series, Fox seamlessly integrates various balloon characters, photographed at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade, into disparate locales. Ribbons of rope trail the balloons, suggesting that they have escaped from their handlers and are intently roaming the countryside, a perception enhanced by the characters’ perpetual grins. Despite their staging, Fox’s images are never stilted or prosaic. They are infused with humor, visual intrigue, and a sophisticated sense of play.
